Why Now?

While I have lived in the district, the student population has grown from around 3200 in 2006 to around 4000 students now. The district has continued to thrive even with that substantial growth. I want to help the district continue its exceptional work as new opportunities arise from improving our schools to ensuring our curriculum meets the needs of our students as our world changes.

My kids' educational needs and interests are varied, which serves as a powerful reminder of the enormous task our public schools have to meet the needs of all kids in our community. Although a challenge, it provides an excellent opportunity to support students with the resources and experiences to thrive and develop to the best of their ability. ​​

The diversity in our schools is a reflection of our ever-growing community. I value and believe that supporting all students and making our schools a welcoming and psychologically safe environment for all makes for a stronger community. I also believe that a district that values the uniqueness  of each individual creates an environment that allows families and our community as a whole to thrive.
